Timeline

1960s

The cooperatives San Francisco de Asís, Perpetuo Socorro and Santa Potenciana are founded in Villanueva de la Reina.

1994

The three cooperatives are building modern, shared facilities outside the town center.

1995

Aceites Guadalquivir begins operating as a second-tier cooperative.

2000

New services are being added for members, such as fuel and plant protection products.

2003

The packaging line and the Buensalud brand are born.

2010

The union is consolidated into a single first-tier cooperative.

2011

The cooperative is making progress in its professionalization process.

2013

The facilities are being reinforced and improved.

2018

A change occurs in the marketing system.

Aceites Guadalquivir is a modern, growing and constantly evolving cooperative.

Who we are

Our story

Location

Our cooperative is located in Villanueva de la Reina, in the heart of the Guadalquivir countryside, at the gateway to Sierra Morena.

The municipality is located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, in the province of Jaén, a region renowned for its vast olive groves. Our surroundings bear the seal of the Natural Parks of Andalusia, guaranteeing a carefully cultivated origin deeply rooted in the landscape.

Our olive grove extends across three lands —Campiña, Vega and Sierra—, and from this diversity the personality of our oils is born.

Our oils are certified by the Protected Geographical Indication Aceites de Jaén, a guarantee of origin and quality.

Facilities

Our olive mill includes facilities for receiving, extraction, storage, bottling, offices, a shop, and member services.

We have a plot of approximately 35,000 m² and a building area of about 12,000 m², which houses the cleaning yard, the mill, the cellars, the bottling plant, the offices, and the shop.

Reception and Extraction

We receive, clean, and mill the olives in our own facilities. Cold extraction allows us to preserve the oil's natural qualities and maintain its unique character.

Storage

The oil is stored in identified stainless steel tanks, under controlled conditions, to protect its quality until the time of packaging.

Packaged on demand

We bottle on demand to ensure the oil remains in optimal condition until it reaches your customer. This allows us to work with different formats and adapt to each client's needs.

Quality throughout the entire process

We control the process from the moment the olives arrive until the bottle is finished. During production, we continuously analyze the oils, classify them according to their quality, and select the best batches for bottling.

Oils intended for bottling are subsequently analyzed in accredited external laboratories, including physicochemical and sensory tests where applicable.

We are certified by the Jaén Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), ISO 22000, and the Sustainable Q program.

How we work

From the olive grove to the bottle,
we control every step.

Quality begins in the field. That's why we support our olive-growing families with agronomic advice and shared services. Their daily work in the olive grove is the first step in creating our oil.
At the olive mill, the olives are sorted, cleaned, and milled daily at low temperatures. Each oil is separated according to its quality and stored in labeled tanks until bottling.
Each batch is recorded, allowing traceability from origin to bottle.

Member Services

As a cooperative, our work doesn’t end with producing the oil. We also support farmers in their daily operations, offering services that help them better manage their farms and strengthen their connection with the cooperative.

We provide support in areas such as agronomic advice, agricultural supplies, fuel, insurance, labor management, contract manufacturing, marketing, and other administrative services. This close relationship allows us to work closely with our partners, improve quality from the source, and strengthen the shared project behind every bottle.

Aceites Guadalquivir is not a static cooperative. Since 1995, we have grown, expanded our services, improved our processes, and strengthened our structure. This constant evolution is the foundation of our present and the guarantee of our future.
